Where it all started.

In August, 2018 I took a trip into the mountains of Prince of Wales Island in South-East Alaska. I borrowed a pair of Sitka Mountain Pants and a .270 rifle from my brother, and a Killik shirt from a friend, and took a trip that changed how I viewed hunting gear forever.

The brush was thick, the mountains were steep, and my clothes wet. We reached the top after a day of hiking, and on our first day I was able to shoot my second-ever Sitka Blacktail.

As I reminisced on the trip, I tried to imagine how much more the “suck” factor would have affected this expedition without quality gear. From then on I decided to search out and use the highest quality gear.

That’s where I came up with the idea of Hunter’s Gear Guide. Our purpose is the same I had a year ago, to find you the best hunting gear available through fair, quality reviews written by hunters for hunters.

So go ahead, check out some reviews, buy some gear, and get out there.
