If you need a venison recipe that’s quick, simple, and will last you all week, you need to try out this venison roast. It’s literally three ingredients, an hour in the oven, and sandwiches all week long. I actually got this recipe by checking out how to make roast beef, and then just taking some of those techniques and putting it into a venison roast recipe.
I’m literally a fan. I can just imagine pumping out these venison roasts in future years for lunches, thin slicing the meat, and letting people enjoy the rich flavor of venison with sharply seasoned edges.
So check it out, and give this recipe a try. I’ve included the ingredients and instructions below!
Ingredients For Venison Roast Recipe
- 3 pound venison roast (Need venison? Check out D’Artagnan for quality meats)
- 1½ tsp kosher salt
- 1½ tsp garlic powder
- ¾ tsp black pepper
- 3-4 foot long pieces cotton twine
Instructions For Venison Roast Recipe
- Tie the roast tightly with cotton twine in 3 inch intervals.
- Place roast in pan and season evenly with kosher salt, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Heat oven to 375°F and cook roast for 1 hour (20 minutes per pound).
- Remove from oven and cover loosely in foil for 15-20 minutes.
- Slice roast and enjoy on sandwiches or with a favorite side dish!
Concluding Thoughts
This recipe is literally one of the simplest I’ve ever used. It doesn’t take much, and goes well on sandwich or with some side dishes. The roast is tied together to keep it in a round shape and prevent it from flattening, while the tin foil at the end helps keep juices in the meat, ensuring it’s tender and delicious.
