As you know, finding good wild turkey recipes can be challenging. These birds get a bad rap, and you’ll often hear they’re not nearly as good as their domesticated cousins.
But, it’s all about how you cook ’em.

Any bacon wrapped turkey breast recipe sounds delicious. Especially when you throw in jalapenos and cream cheese. So if you’re looking for a good “wild turkey wrapped in bacon recipe” this could become your new favorite.
Savory, a little spicy, and absolutely delicious.
So, let’s get started.
Ingredients For Turkey Jalapeno Poppers (Serves Four)
- 1.5 lbs thick cut pepper bacon
- 2.5 lbs wild turkey breast
- 6 whole jalapenos
- 6 oz cream cheese
- 30 Toothpicks
Marinade
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 4 tbsp white vinegar
- 4 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp ground pepper
- 4 cloves garlic or 2 tsp garlic powder (I prefer garlic powder)
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
Instructions For Turkey Jalapeno Poppers
- Start off by cutting the wild turkey breast into 1″ cubes. Mix up the marinade and toss them in. Let the meat marinade for at least 3 hours.
- Now since this a bacon wrapped turkey breast recipe, we’re going to cut each slice of bacon in half and then our jalapenos into quarters (I remove the seeds).
- Spread some cream cheese across the jalapeno, place a piece of wild turkey breast onto it, wrap it in the bacon, and stick a toothpick through it to hold it all together.
- Heat the grill up to 300-350°F. Place the turkey jalapeno poppers on the grill, and rotate every few minutes. Once the bacon is done, the turkey should also be done.
- Enjoy.
